Dr Mike

(BSc BVMS CMAVA)

Dr Mike is a dedicated Veterinarian and father of 3 children. His special interests include reptile medicine and surgery, equine medicine and surgery, canine reproduction and orthodpedics. His goals this year include training at the local Jettz gym, fishing more and 4 wheel driving around the wonderful national parks of the region. He has recently achieved CMAVA certification in the Veterinary industry and is planning on attending the AVA (Canberra) and ASAVA conference (Perth) this year. He is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (ITF) and plays Tuba for the Bundaberg Municpal Band and Bundaberg Symphony Orchestra.

is a veterinarian from New Zealand who has recently joined the team at Sugarland Vet Clinic. She studied at Massey University for 5 years to complete a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Her special interests include small animal medicine, paediatric medicine and exotic medicine and surgery. She loves all animals, but especially pugs and guinea pigs. While living in sunny Queensland Rachel hopes to further her knowledge of Australia’s wildlife. Rachel owns 3 cats, 2 pugs, 2 cockatiels and 4 guinea pigs.

Dr Claire has recently completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, and is happy to back in her hometown – Bundaberg. Claire is dedicated to helping all types of creatures great and small, as well as her major interest being animal psychology. She has a dog named Jack and a lizard named Elroy. Whilst she is the newest member of the team she looks forward to meeting you all.

(Cert II Veterinary Nursing)

is undergoing a Veterinary Nurse Traineeship and has aspirations of becoming a qualified Veterinary Nurse. She has two dogs, Max and Harry, and a cat. Harry has some missing teeth......... thanks Dr Mike, and Max is full of life. Jessica is easy going, friendly and loves to help wherever she can!

(Cert II Veterinary Nursing)

is also undergoing a Veterinary Nursing Traineeship. As a mum of 5, she has the life experience necessary to give the best quality care and compassion for both you and your pets. She loves spending time with her family and her chocolate Labrador, Piper.
Melissa

(Cert II Veterinary Nursing, Cert IV Frontline Management)

Is our Practice manager and has recently finished practice management school and her cert IV in frontline management. She is married with two young children, and her extended family consists of two dogs, a parrot, and some fish. She loves spending time with her family, enjoying camping, fishing and water skiing.

BETH

Beth is a proud mother of a little boy, and to keep her extra busy is also the owner of an Australian Terrier named Stomper and two cockatiels – Benny and Olly and has recently acquired a cat named Roger. She enjoys going to the beach, gym and playing netball while also studying part time at CQUniversity. Beth is our full-time receptionist and is a client and patient orientated, friendly member of our team.
Sam

SAM

Sam is the junior member of the firm and she is currently in year 11 at school. She enjoys working with all the different animals in the clinic but especially dogs and reptiles. She is a bubbly and hardworking member of the Sugarland Veterinary Clinic team, working both in the back assisting the nursing staff and out on the front counter with great customer service skills. Sam is an asset to our team.
Kemeeka

KAMEEKA

Kameeka is an enthusiastic new member of our team commencing her Certificate I in a Veterinary Nurse traineeship and looks forward to becoming a fully qualified vet nurse. She has three dogs Holly, Gem and Mishka as well as two birds – a cockatiel and a budgie. Kameeka is passionate about animals and has a fantastic personality, she looks forward to meeting the wonderful clientele of Sugarland Vet Clinic.
