Dr Mike is a Father! Dr mike is now performing Artificial Insemination for those doggies that just can't get it together. Recently Annabelle and her boyfriend had some difficulty starting a family and asked Dr Mike for a hand. 63 days later Annabelle had 10 pups (see below). Artificial Insemination is an easy cost effective alternative for animals with difficulty breeding. Often a simple program, if followed can result in excellent stress free results for breeders. Usually an AI program includes a) Vaginal swabs are very effective at detecting signs of disease and possible infection. A culture and sensitivity should be taken to ensure healthy environment for sperm transfer and pregnancy. b) Progesterone Assays. The Best results are obtained using serial progesterone assay tests beginning as soon as day 5, but usually day 7 of oestrus to detect exact day of ovulation. c) AI with fresh or chilled semen at day 4-5 post LH peak or AI with chilled or frozen semen at day 5-6 post LH peak d) Pregnancy diagnosis from 32 days post LH peak $65.
